Crucible Maximums

Making a maximum 147 break is always a special achievement but to make one at the Crucible Theatre could be considered the holy grail. There have been 12 maximum breaks made at the Sheffield venue and here you can see the videos of them.

The first was made back in 1983 by Canadian Cliff Thorburn, Several memorable shots from the break go down in snooker folklore such as the fluke which started the break off and the infamous yellow towards the end.

The fastest was made in 5:08 by Ronnie O'Sullivan in 1997 which surely will be a record that will stand forever. Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry are the only players to make maximum breaks multiple times at the Crucible having both achieved the feat three times.

Neil Robertson made the most recent one in the 2022 Last 16 match against Jack Lisowski.. A match he would go on to lose 13-12.
